NOVEL NAILS

More and more around campus I am spotting girls with unique and intricate nails. I have tried many times to recreate the looks, however my hands are definitely not steady enough, especially when using my non-dominant hand. My lack of skill will not hold me back though! I found a solution for how to get interesting nails with little time and effort. For all my fellow non-artistically blessed, fashion-forward friends I bring you CutePolish:

Best of luck and may you have cute nails forevermore!

GOOP

A few weeks ago my mom sent me a link to a website called Goop. The website is very easy to use, starting out with six options to click on: Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, and See. Below these options it says By Gweneth Paltrow in beautiful swirly cursive and what looks to be her true signature.

    www.goop.com

In the Make section there are recipes, the Go section has great places to visit and stay at, and the Get section has her favorite products. The Do section talks about activities she enjoys and worthy charities, the Be section is about ways of thinking and behaving, and finally the See section is about websites and books she finds noteworthy. I found it a very interesting way to see through her eyes and understand the things she likes and finds important.

ON TREND

As the weather in Davis begins to warm up, we can't seem to shake the winter wind. Everyone is dying to wear their new shorts from Forever 21, but most days it seems too chilly to pull it off. Well here is a perfect remedy for your spring wardrobe! The shorts and a blazer combo. Stars and New Yorkers alike are loving this trend right now and I foresee Davisites loving it too!

CHARMING NECKLACE

I have an entire storage container full of charms, chains, and beads, so when I saw this project on theglamourai.com it was a perfect fit! I love eye-catching necklaces, especially when I get to create and customize them myself.

To start you will need the jewelry tools below. You can find them at arts and crafts stores and they are super inexpensive. This project requires the wire cutters, flat nose pliers and round nose pliers.

Then you will of course need charms. I used buttons, earrings that lost their mates, beads, old pendants from broken necklaces, and little trinkets I found when out walking around. If you are going to be using charms that don't already have a jump-ring you will also need a spool of 20 gauge jewelry wire. You can find this at the crafts store.

Now you need a base to attach all of your wonderful charms to. I used several different chains that had either come from broken necklaces or that I bought at the craft store. For this project you are going to need chains of several different lengths, making sure that your shortest chain sits at a comfortable place on your neck. Attach them to your clasp and they should look like this:

Attach your charms to the necklace by opening the chain with the pliers. When you have added all the charms you want you will have your finished product that you made yourself! Mine turned out like this:
