MATTHEW WILLIAMSON REDEFINES BRIDAL BEAUTY

I have an obsession with bridal gowns and weddings in general. Growing up, I was always a flower girl and to this day I can probably recite half the dialogue of The Wedding Planner to anyone willing to listen. I guess, weddings are just something every girl has an innate obsession with starting from a very young age.


Although traditional wedding details and princess dresses are what people usually envision for their big day, I've always been a fan of being true to yourself and pushing those style boundaries. I fell in love with Matthew Williamson's new bridal collection because of his unique touch and interesting silhouettes that make every bride feel special no matter what her style may be.

BUTTON UP! BUTTON UP!

Perry tried to tell me a few weeks ago to start wearing shirts buttoned all the way up, but it seemed a little too frumpy and conservative for me. I, personally, was never a big fan of buttoning shirts up to the collar because it kind of felt suffocating and looked too prim and proper for everyday wear.


Recently however, this button-up trend has been popping up all over the place, from the blogosphere to magazines to runway shows. And I have to say, it's kind of growing on me.


I must try out this trend soon--maybe later this week, or maybe tomorrow haha. What do you guys think, is it posh and chic or too similar to elementary school get-ups?













And if Mr. Pharrell Williams is buttoning up, then I must say that I'm hella on board with this trend!

RACHEL ROY PRESENTS "MOVE"

Rachel Roy just debuted a new short film for her Spring collection entitled "Move." Not only is Roy one of my favorite designers, but I absolutely love the way she presents her collections each season. Her lookbooks are always inspiring, different, bold, or all three.


"Move" showcases a garment's mobility and transformative nature in an aestetically pleasing way. Roy's designs flow across each dancer's body differently and really capture the spirit of the wearer. Although I love the structured clothing which is popular during the colder seasons, I'm excited to see more movement and free form apparel this Spring.


As noted by the Rachel Roy team, "there's nothing to lose, there's nothing to prove, MOVE."

JUST DANCE IN PRADA

We're getting near to the middle of the quarter which means that everyone is knee deep in midterms, papers, and projects. Just remember not to stress out too much, keep calm and take frequent breaks to relax. If you need a little pick-me-up, check out this fun new video from Prada. Typically, we see fashion videos of ethereal models prancing around in a meadow or some dark brooding Black Swan-esque short film. However, Prada takes it up a notch for their Spring/Summer '11 video campaign and features a variety of models dancing to Ratatat in a mixture of bright colors, huge Cheshire cat-like scarves, and fun silhouettes. It may be midterm season but don't kill yourself, just dance!
