CAT EYE

The 1960's winged cat eye is one of my favorite makeup looks of all time and was often sported by one of my vintage style icons, Audrey Hepburn. I've tried to perfect the art of the cat eyeliner, but sometimes I just end up with a thick black swoop on my eyelid... hopefully these images can inspire you and the tutorial can help those of you willing to try this look out!

FEELIN' LIKE YEEZY

Kanye West - full time rapper, part time fashionista.

Best known for his unique mix of retro, prep-school style and hip hop swagger, Kanye West is constantly on the cutting edge of fashion, pushing the boundaries of hip-hop couture. Although most may know Kanye West for his controversial antics, I've always noticed his one-of-a-kind style complete with satin blazers, suits and crisp dress shirts, futuristic high tops, and 70's-80's inspired sportwear. Recently, the grammy award winning artist has teamed up with French design firm M/M to create a collection of silk scarves inspired by the artwork from his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The exlcusive limited edition line will be sold at the Colette boutique in Paris, France and online at www.mmparis.com with a highly anticipated price-point. If Kanye's self-proclaimed "passion for flashin'" is any indicator of how much the scarves will go for, I'd say you better start saving up if you want to start dressing like Yeezy.

Check out some of Kanye's looks:

VINTAGE HEAVEN: CRIMSON AND CLOVER BOUTIQUE

In a society where fast fashion is the norm and buying mass produced clothing can creep back to haunt you at any moment, (i.e. that embarrassing moment when you see that one girl wearing the EXACT same dress as you at the party) I often find myself scouring vintage boutiques for unique, one -of- a- kind pieces.  Vintage boutiques can be very hit or miss, but I recently encountered a boutique that was everything I could ever ask for: Crimson and Clover.

Located in Old Sacramento, Crimson and Clover carries a vast collection of vintage and handmade clothing and accessories from the 1930's to the 1980's.  The owners are very friendly and helpful and the best part is that the clothing is super cute, yet affordable.  Most of their garments range from 1 to 20 dollars, and they have a great selection of men's, women's and children's shoes, dresses, shirts, pants, jewelry, anything you can think of!  This place is too good to keep a secret so if you love vintage items, definitely check it out.  Here's a taste of what their store is like and some of the treasures you may find:
