FEATURED BLOGGER: "THE STYLE BLOGGER"

It's a shame that men's style isn't featured enough on this blog. I have to admit, I love myself a "well dressed" man. To mix things up, Dan Trepanier (aka The Style Blogger) is our featured blogger this month. Esquire magazine dubbed him "The Best Dressed Real Man in America” and clearly, we can all see why. This guy is the epitome of real swag. Ranging from business casual to strictly business, The Style Blogger utilizes high and low brands to achieve his clean, modern yet versatile everyday looks.

Hailing from a small farm outside of Windsor Ontario, Canada, Trepanier moved to NY to attend Columbia University where he obtained a degree in Psychology and a real love for style. His blog is designed like a style diary that contains cool features like "Tips of the Day", "Readers Questions" and even a video series about his daily endeavors. He also styled, modeled and directed an amazing photo shoot that chronicles menswear of decades past called "A Century of Menswear". Check it out!

Personally, I prefer wearing as little make up (or completely sans make up) as possible during the summer months. When it's scorching hot outside, no one enjoys that disgusting feeling of wearing heavy foundations or powders on your face or bothering with eye makeup that washes off in the water or inevitably slides off during perspiration. SUMMER 2011: SAVE OUR SKIN!

I think we can all agree that one of the best parts of summer is being able to show a little skin in our cute floral dresses and skirts or daring denim cut offs. But there's always a dark side. Recent statistics revealed that skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S. Also, did you know 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer? Scary, right?


Therefore, practicing sun and skin safety is absolutely crucial to our health.


Aside from the obvious reapplication and copious amounts of sunscreen  that need to be reapplied every few hours, prevention is clearly the key.


La Roche-Pochay is continuing it's 'Save Our Skin' initiative for it's third consecutive year, advocating for sun safety nationwide. So it only made sense to team up with Georges Atlan (formerly of Guess, Calvin Klein, Seven, Hudson and Bebe) to launch their first exclusive denim line, inspired by classic American denim wear. Why jeans, you ask? "Jeans are an iconic, essential part of the modern wardrobe, just like the t-shirt. No one does basics like American Apparel. We've mastered the basic t-shirt, now we're getting excited about jeans," said Dov Charney, CEO and founder of American Apparel. With over three decades of experience in product development, factory management and running his own businesses, Atlan became their newly appointed Director of Denim by taking control of all denim production.




The first exclusive American Apparel Jeans line will be constructed of a 14 ounce denim made of 100% cotton. The fabric is thick, original, and designed to be broken in and worn for years. American Apparel offers four styles high-waisted tapered jeans and cuffed shorts, signaturely "Made in the USA".

The prices range from $50 to $80.
